Fill in the Blank Friday!

1. My absolute favorite movie of all time is - When Harry Met Sally. I love that movie. I can quote it and I can watch it over an over again. It makes me laugh and it makes me believe in second chances, love and friendship.

2. My favorite movie as a child was "Angels in the Outfield". This drove my brother insane because it is a terrible movie. But I loved it.
3. The best movie quote ever is - from "When Harry Met Sally" It is almost at the end of the movie and it is on New Years..."I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."
4. My favorite actress is Sandra Bullock. I hate that her husband is such an asshole.

5. The movie I could watch over and over is "When Harry Met Sally" ...see the theme here?
6. My favorite movie genre is I like chick flicks and comedies. Hangover was HILARIOUS
7. A movie I'd like to watch this weekend is I dont want to watch a movie this weekend.

Shopping

I've done a little bit of shipping here and there over the past few weeks but of everything I bought...I love this dress from Target the most. It channels my inner "hippie" but is still fun and classic and at under $20 I love it even more!

The Help

I read a lot. I always want suggestions on new books to pick up etc. So when Samma talked about a book in one of her blog posts I picked it up at the bookstore.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett is very well written and I am not quite sure how I felt about it. All I can say is that it changed me. Not in a crazy way but in a wow so much has changed in this world in 40 years and yet I was unaware of the true amounts of change.

I say pick it up, give it a read and tell me what you think.
Also...any book suggestions? I like all kinds and my stack is getting low! :) I love Chick lit but I also love heavy reading so any suggestions would be great.

Top 2 tuesday

It is Top 2 Tuesday

Top 2 Favorite Things About Summer -

1. Tubing the River- Whether it be the Comal or the Guadalupe River - no summer is complete without a tube trip.

2. Crawfish - Love them. The spicier the better and this comes from a gal that hates spicy food. Disclaimer- I was reading another blog (I wish I could link to it but I can't remember what blog it was..when I find it I will link back) and she also had these listed as her favorite summer activities. I don't want anyone thinking I stole her ideas because my family has been tubing the river since I was 2 (literally I was 2 when I first went down the comal river) and we've had crawfish boils as long as I can remember. :)
edit to add: http://unwritten322.blogspot.com/ thats the blog I read yesterday :)

Weeeeeeeekend.

B was out of town all last week and we were reunited yesterday. While I have been in plenty of long distance relationships and I know that a week apart isn't terrible- I missed him. It's crazy because usually he is gone and while I wish we could meet up for dinner or something, I don't truly miss him. This time I truly missed him and wanted him home. The weekend was fun- good BBQ, good friends, fun party and catching up with an old friend but it was best when he got home.

It was nice to be by his side again. He truly does make everyday brighter and while I would normally already be smiling - him being around makes my smile bigger and truly when I think about him my heart smiles.

Roxy pup

(Roxy at Christmas time)

So I realized that I I have not written about Roxy pup!
(Roxy and I)

So B has a dog - a Lhasa Apso. His parents gave her to him. She is adorable. I am completely obsessed with Roxy. Although they are supposed to be 25-30lbs she is a little under 10lbs (the runt of the litter) and she is precious. I think he thinks I am crazy because I just love her to pieces. I take pictures of her, cuddle with her and I truly think she is the cutest, sweetest dog ever.

Everyone Loves a Crawfish boil!

This past weekend was a lot of fun. We celebrated my friend J's birthday this weekend. Her wonderful BF put on a large crawfish boil. It was so much fun.

I LOVE crawfish and I love seeing my friends. All in all it was a wonderful day! Who doesn't have fun with a keg, wine and jello shots ;)

The picture above is towards the end of the night - glassy eyed and all.

45 things to remember

Shamelessly stolen from a forwarded e-mail by a coworker, but it made me smile so I thought I'd pass it on via blog. I hope something on the list strikes a chord with you; I know a few definitely did for me. I don't believe in all of them, but there are a few that I do!

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words ''In five years, will this matter?".
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time, time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.

Happy Friday!

It is Fill in the Blank Friday
1. The first thing I do in the morning is: roll over and think "seriously? it's already morning?"
2. Every night before bed I: turn over and over and try to settle in - this - I think annoys B to no end as he just gets in bed and falls asleep - I have to get comfy.
3. My favorite thing to do when I'm having a bad day is: get a good latte or indulge in senseless tv.
4. Something that makes me cringe is: the thought that I need to clean up my house!
5. Social situations: make me happy. I love to be around people (as long as I like the company!)
6. I like to collect: NOTHING...I hate collections of crap.
7. Weekends are for: resting, getting coffee and overall relaxing.

Some call it...

So my blog is sometimes fun and light hearted, sometimes not...but mostly it is just the stuff that is going on in my life and in my head. As most can see I am in a semi-new relationship with one of the most amazing people I've ever known. And yes...before we were dating I thought that about him. So here I am. My life is amazing and I am lucky...blessed...whatever the word may be. But I am so hesitant in the relationship - I've been hurt, lied to, etc before. So I go two steps forward then 1 step back with this relationship.

I don't want to hurt the friendship with the relationship and yet I dont want to hurt the relationship because of the friendship. So...it is a slippery slope but at the same time...it is wonderful. It is 100% wonderful.

So how does one know it is love and not lust?

We've all been there. You are dating then it is exclusive then almost 6 months go by and then is it love or lust or a combination?

I'm at that point. I am at the point where I think I am in love. It has been 6 years since I was in love. 6 years since being with someone that I truly trusted, cared about, wanted nothing but the best for and no matter what happened - his happiness was super important to me.

And in between those 6 years I was in a long term relationship with 2 different people and dated countless amounts of people. In those 6 years I said "I love you" to two different people and the thing is - at the time I meant it. I did love them but I wasn't in love with them. I just wasn't. I wanted it to work - but the thing is...it didn't.

6 years since I saw a life that I truly wanted to have with someone. I have no idea what is intended to happen and the thing is - for the first time ever- I am 100% ok with not knowing. I don't have to read the ending before reading the book. I don't have to question everything...I just have the faith in knowing whatever will happen will happen. There are no red flags, no lies, no daunting questions that I am worried about.

I think...I am in love.

B's Birthday!

Nothing too fancy - he came home and we chatted and caught up with each other (we haven't spent a lot of time together lately!) Then he opened his presents - he knew one of them but the other two I think he was surprised at and then...DINNER

WE went to Max's wine dive - loved the wine, the atmosphere was ok and the food was good...but the company was fantastic.

What can I say....I just truly enjoy every moment we spend together.

After dinner we came home, cuddled on the couch while watching TV and then went to bed. We awoke this morning and rushed to get ready and head to work...truly enjoy every second I'm with him. :)
